Putting Business at the heart of the Global Goals

Whilst momentum has increased significantly since the launch of the Global Goals in 2015, we have a long way to go to achieve them by 2030. We are now in the ‘Decade of Action’, and it is going to take a fundamental step change in global ambition to get us on track.

It’s estimated that the Global Goals can create USD $12 trillion per year in market opportunities by 2030, as well as 380 million jobs worldwide. Three quarters of consumers believe that CEOs should take the lead on change rather than waiting for government to impose it and companies worldwide are recognising the power and responsibility of business to be a force for good in society.

The 17 Business Avengers comprise some of the world’s largest and most influential companies, all of which are committed to playing a significant role in achieving the Global Goals.

Representing over a million employees and more than USD $500 billion revenue between them, each company has elected to be the ‘Business Avenger’ for one Goal, and to use their internal and external reach to communicate the importance of the Global Goals as a framework. Each company is actively seeking ways to innovate, collaborate and increase their own contribution towards achieving the Goals.
